Sustainable Ecosystems Institute

2011

SEI was founded by marine scientist Dr Deborah Brosnan as an innovative way for scientists to use their unique skills and knowledge to serve society.  SEI is an established think and do tank. Bright minds, creative ideas, multi-disciplinary teams, and a willingness to go to go to the edge of knowledge and then push a little further in order to help humanity are SEI’s hallmarks With over 700 scientists formally affiliated  through the SEI science network and forming the backbone of SEI’s mission, we are able to focus on emerging themes and respond quickly to current issues.  The Institute serves as a “think and do tank” a generator and incubator of ideas while also serving the practical needs of government, private and public organizations and individuals.  Email SEI .

Sustainable Ecosystems Institute

An innovative place for science and scientists to serve the needs of society.

Welcome to SEI, a non-profit organization dedicated to science for society.

In such uncertainty and change, our world needs the full creativity and talents of science and scientists. Challenging times often open our minds to new ways of seeing the world, and its when we see quantum shifts in thinking, and new solutions. We at SEI, make no bones about it- we love to help drive those ideas, we love to challenge thinking,  and we excel in responding  to the emerging needs in a changing world. That’s why SEI itself has evolved to better explore and drive the ideas and science, and to be there when practical solutions are needed.  As we transition our website to catch up with where we are today, please bear with us as some pages will be “old style” for a while. But we need to leave them up, so that those of you who don’t know us can get a better sense of who we are, what we’ve done and where we’re going  Welcome on board!  It’s going to be an exciting ride.
