A botanist and native of Russia, Tatiana did her doctoral research on rare and endangered plant species in one of the regions of the Russian Far East. She is an expert in international plant protection measures and legislation, rare plant species dynamics, the ecological assesment of industrial impacts, and GIS implementation in botanical conservation.

One of Tatiana's major scientific interests is the comparitive analysis of Pacific Northwestern and Pacific Northeastern floras, and she has conducted botanical studies in numerous international projects based in the Russian Far East and Pacific Nothwest. She has been a member of more than 20 exploritory expeditions in Siberia and Alaska, and has hosted a weekly Russian television show on wildlife.

Outside of her botanical studies, Tatiana finds time for photography, sports, and gutair. She is also an accomplished scientific illustrator, and often spends time drawing plants.
