All SEI centres have a responsibility to plan, work with and follow up on equity, gender and diversity issues in ways that embrace the aim and context of this policy and are also responsible for local adaptation to country specific laws and regulations. The policy is guided by international human rights standards, and focus on the following component: human rights, non-discrimination and equal opportunities and follow up.

SEI expects all employees to follow the intentions of the policy and apply its high standards consistently in all SEI deliveries. This includes both to support other colleagues, and when interaction with the wider community.

The work is followed up annually. The result is communicated to the SEI board and all employees and best practices are shared in order to support the intensions of this policy.
