“Reducing meat consumption is only one of the steps we need to take”

The Special Report on Climate Change and Land is the latest landmark report issued by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). When it was released on 8 August, SEI’s Francis X. Johnson, a lead author of the report, explained in the studio of Sweden’s TV4 channel why reducing meat consumption is only one aspect of changing the way we use land.

What do you actually do when you write an IPCC report together with some 100 other authors? What are the steps we need to take other than eating less meat? Will Sweden meet its zero emissions target for 2045?

Francis X. Johnson, Senior Research Fellow at SEI and lead author to the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land (SRCCL), answered questions in the program “Nyhetsmorgon” on Swedish TV4 – and also offered his view on why he is confident Sweden will reach its climate target of net-zero emissions by 2045.
