For many rural households in Burkina Faso, farming takes place under challenging conditions, with poor soils that often cannot produce enough food. At the same time, sanitation services remain limited or absent in many communities. These issues are inherently connected: the nutrients needed on the fields are the same nutrients that sanitation systems could capture and reuse.
