Mike developed a co-ordinated abatement strategy model for emissions to the atmosphere of acidic substances and their cost effective control, working with the Long Range Transboundary Atmospheric Pollution Convention.
For five years he was Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute in Sweden and then Director of LEAD-Europe in Geneva, part of the Rockefeller Foundation’s global Leadership for Environment and Development programme.
He now works as a private consultant on environmental matters, most recently with MISTRA in Sweden, the IPCC, European Union projects and with the Rockefeller Foundation on poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods.
He is also an honorary visiting professor in the Departments of Environment and Biology in the University of York, and a Senior Research Associate with SEI York.
