Sarah Jabens is the undergraduate Finance and Operations Intern at the SEI US Somerville office. She works supporting a variety of financial, operations, and human resource functions including gathering data, invoicing, mailing procedures, and processing files.
Sarah is originally from North Dakota and graduated from Fargo South High School, where she was co-president of the high school’s environmental club and swam competitively for 8 years. She is a junior at Tufts University and is double majoring in Economics and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, with a minor in Food Systems and Nutrition.
She is particularly interested in environmental economics, specifically resource allocation and the implementation of renewable resource policies, such as those in the European Commission’s Green Deal. In addition, she is eager to talk about the possibility of implementing a LGBTQ+ sex education curriculum in the US. Sarah is also passionate about proper nutrition education in schools and equitable and successful government public nutrition programs.
Outside of her SEI internship, she works as a residential assistant in Rainbow House and is the Vice President of Project Linus, a national organization that makes comfort blankets for children in hospitals and shelters. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading both high-fantasy fiction novels and activist books on topics such as racial justice and gender studies.
