Yossef Zahar

SEI Affiliated Researcher

Yossef Zahar is an SEI Affiliated Researcher focused on climate finance and the role of private finance in addressing communities’ mitigation and adaptation challenges in developing Asia-Pacific. Yossef brings more than 15 years of experience in financial markets and broad investment and corporate finance experience, and has served in a variety of roles in top-tier financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Citigroup and Lloyds TSB Bank, as well as at his own firm.

As a senior climate finance expert, Yossef has played a major role in the design and development of several blended finance structures with regional scope in Asia-Pacific through the UNFCCC Green Investment Catalyst. He works with local and international financial institutions, development finance and micro finance institutions, commercial banks, development partners, financial sector regulators, industry associations and green financial product providers to accelerate green finance flows for developing Asia.

Yossef has presided over the London Business School’s Carbon Network, as well as serving on its board, and has provided pro bono financial and strategic advice for impact entrepreneurs. He holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School and a BA summa cum laude in Economics and Management. He is currently based in Bangkok.
