Zheng Cui

Equitable Transitions Intern

Zheng is an intern on the Equitable Transitions team at SEI US in Somerville. His main task is using quantitative methods to assess synergies and tradeoffs between SDG targets at a global level through large-scale analysis of indicator data.

Zheng is a first-year master’s degree candidate at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. His current research focuses on international development and climate policy. Prior to Fletcher, Zheng graduated from George Washington University, where he received his B.A. in international relations. While at GW, Zheng concentrated on East Asia regional study and international development.

Before joining SEI, Zheng worked at various institutions in the US and China. Most recently, Zheng worked as a research intern at the Carnegie China Center and Tsinghua University, where he worked on global governance issues and the distribution of public goods in the Middle East. Zheng has also interned at the Shanghai Institute of American Studies and the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University.

Zheng grew up in Shandong province, China, and lived in different parts of the US, including Maine and Arkansas. Zheng plays American football in his hometown Jinan and has been a registered player at Jinan Mammoth American Football Club since 2017.
