National Meteorological and Hydrological Service agencies in Europe, and around the world are at various stages of development and implementation of impact-based warnings. Therefore, it is beneficial to have a check-in on the transition.
This project aims to compile a best-practices document that builds on the successes of agencies that have already made the transition to impact-based warnings, while identifying potential issues and pitfalls for agencies who are in the transition process. This document would be operationally relevant, speaking directly to National Meteorological and Hydrological Service agencies, key stakeholders (utilities, transport operators, health care practitioners, emergency management officers, etc.) and engaged members of the public alike.
