The biggest ever gathering of climate change adaptation experts took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in May 2016. Almost 1800 people from 103 countries participated in the fourth international climate change adaptation conference ‘Adaptation Futures 2016: Practices and Solutions’. This project analysed, shared and built on the success of this conference.
The conference focused on practices and solutions: it highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among academics, practitioners, policymakers and other experts. This project will produce a number of materials (technical publications, outreach materials, advisory papers) aimed at promoting adaptation research and action around the world. Collectively, these materials should ensure the continued high visibility of the success of Adaptation Futures 2016, and create an impact on adaptation research, planning and policy for the years to come.
