Annika Flensburg works as Press Officer at SEI Headquarters – Corporate Communications Unit.
As Press Officer, Annika is in charge of SEI’s media strategy and media relations. She works closely with SEI’s regional centers to strengthen regional media relations and impact. She provides strategic advice, media training, develop communication plans as well as does hands on media outreach work.
Annika has a long experience of working with communication to create change from various platforms.
Prior to joining SEI, Annika served as Deputy Head of Press at the Prime Minister’s Office. She has also been Press Officer for Isabella Lövin during her time as Minister for International Development Cooperation and Climate, when the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals was adopted which influenced the entire Swedish development agenda.
Annika was deeply involved in the UN Ocean Conference hosted by Sweden and Fiji. She has also served as International PR- and media manager at the Swedish Institute. Annika has a passion for sustainable development and human rights. She worked for Kvinna till Kvinna, supporting women in conflict affected regions in order to get their voices heard and increase their influence and she worked for Amnesty in Sweden as their spokesperson and at Amnesty’s International Secretariat in London, joining their global media team. Her work has taken her to countries across the globe.
