Richard Clay is an SEI Affiliated Researcher based in Leeds, in the UK. He is in the publications team, working closely with SEI editors in all aspects of publication production. He does layout for SEI documents, from fact sheets to text books, but also does general graphic work, proof reading and web updates. Richard worked at SEI York from 2006-2015.
Richard’s past work at SEI included the production of the climate and development magazine Tiempo and he helped to co-ordinate the introduction of a French language regional edition in West Africa. He has done layout work for other projects and organisations, including the New Climate Economy and UNEP.
Richard was Head of Science at Lawnswood School, Leeds, where he taught physics, science, and general studies to pre-university level. He was Chair of Governors of Weetwood Primary School, Leeds. He left teaching in 2006.
He played in the band “Eclectic Sparks” which performed at several SEI events. He co-wrote (with Kevin Hicks) the song “Goodbye Rocky“, for Johan Rockstrom’s leaving event.
