Grasping the climate crises : a provocation

The main purpose of this Provocation is to challenge the widespread perception that nations are dealing effectively with climate change when, in fact, almost nothing is happening yet at the global scale.

As we all know, the depressing truth is that since the signing of the Kyoto Protocol, carbon dioxide (CO2 ) emissions have in fact accelerated, from 1.3 percent per year in the 1990s, to a staggering 3.3 percent per year from 2000 to 2006.

Camouflaging the seriousness of the problem is dangerous as it gives the broader public the impression that the situation is under control, when, in fact, it is not.
