Clément Suavet joined SEI as a Research Fellow in 2015 to work on supply chain sustainability. He has been leading the technical development of the Trase program since its inception by developing the data tools that support the trase.earth platform, and is now overseeing the work of a growing technical team. In June 2018, Clément joined SEI in the US and is now based in Berkeley, CA.

Clément is a broadly trained geoscientist with degrees from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (BSc, 2004), Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble (MSc, 2005), and Aix-Marseille University (PhD, 2009).

Before joining SEI, he carried out research on micrometeorites as a graduate student in France, and as a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow in Siena (Italy). He then joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked on rock samples from the Apollo missions to study ancient magnetic fields on the Moon.
