Pernilla Löfgren is a Research Fellow at SEI Headquarters. She is part of the team working on the Transparency for Sustainable Economies (Trase) platform for supply chain transparency. Pernilla joined SEI in January 2018.
Pernilla is involved in the technical development of the back-end of Trase, including the SEI-PCS tool (Spatially Explicit Information on Production to Consumption Systems), as well as further research on land-use change and sustainability. She is also responsible for maintaining and developing a database that includes trade and production data, together with indicators on the social and environmental sustainability of both production regions and supply chain actors.
Prior to SEI, Pernilla worked as a location data analyst at the government agency Land Information New Zealand for three years. There she was part of the Topography and Addressing team and worked predominantly with maintaining national datasets, spatial analysis and tool development using open source GIS and PostgreSQL.
She holds an Honours degree in Geography from the University of Glasgow (MA, 2013).
