Wanaporn Yangyuentham is Team Leader of Partnership and Engagement for Impact at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI Asia).
With over 17 years of professional experience, Wanaporn has built a strong leadership and management track record in donor relations, strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, multi-country projects with results-based management, and policy impact across Asia and the Pacific.
She currently manages climate finance initiatives, including the Inclusive Climate Finance for Vulnerable Communities in the Asia-Pacific (ICCAP), funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and implemented from 2024 to 2029. The project aims to enhance the economic, social, and environmental resilience of vulnerable communities and marginalized groups affected by climate change.
With regard to partnership and engagement, Wanaporn led the Strategic Collaborative Fund programme from 2018 to 2024, funded by the Embassy of Sweden, to strengthen regional cooperation, institutional capacity, and enable learning towards the achievement of SDGs. Under her leadership, more than 30 grantees and 80 consortium partners were engaged to successfully deliver over 70 regional policy dialogues and multi-stakeholder engagements.
Through the SCF programme, Wanaporn has contributed to policy development and impact across the region, including the China-ASEAN Environmental Strategy and its Action Plan for 2021-2025, the Green and Sustainable Agriculture Strategic Framework for Lao PDR (2021-2030), the Loss and Damage Statement (2022), and Family Farmers Declaration on Rebuilding Agriculture and Transforming Food Systems (2020).
Prior to joining SEI, she worked at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome from 2012 to 2018, where she specialised in community development and sustainability. As part of IFAD’s Independent Office of Evaluation Department, she carried out diverse thematic and project-level evaluations, including evaluations on rural youth and project implementation support. She subsequently joined IFAD’s Programme Management Department, where she provided oversight and technical and management support to country programmes, policy dialogue, and strategic and global partnership initiatives across China, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Thailand. Earlier in her career, Wanaporn worked in Thailand’s private sector, including with Bangkok Bank and AIRA Securities Public Company.
Wanaporn holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy with First Class Honors from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), where she received the Royal Thai Government’s scholarship. She also holds a BA in Economics with First Class Honors from Thammasat University and a BA in Mass Communication with Second Class Honors from Ramkhamhaeng University, Thailand.
