Chloe Daniel is a summer research intern with the Energy Modeling program at SEI US, based in the Somerville office. She is a fourth-year undergraduate student and Presidential Scholar at Brown University, where she is studying Environmental Science (B.S) with a concentration in climate and energy. She is interested in environmental justice and coastal resilience. Through her academic and research work, Chloe seeks to explore how governments, institutions, and local communities can collaborate effectively to create sustainable and equitable solutions.

At Brown, Chloe conducts research with the Climate and Development Lab, where she focuses on state-level climate policy and the political, economic, and social factors that contribute to climate obstruction. Through the lab, she has assisted environmental coalitions and nonprofit organizations in the Northeast with lobbying strategies and advocacy. Chloe previously worked with the Duke Forest Teaching and Research Laboratory in her hometown of Durham, North Carolina, where she assisted with field work and research on herpetofauna and macroinvertebrates. Additionally, she created educational materials on local endangered species and gained experience in forestry management.

In her SEI internship, Chloe supports a variety of projects related to energy systems analysis. Her responsibilities include conducting data analysis, assisting with research, and working with the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP).

In her spare time, Chloe enjoys kayaking and cooking Caribbean cuisine with her family.
