How can the blue economy contribute to coastal resilience? Join us for a session at the UN Ocean Conference where this will be explored by a broad range of knowledgeable speakers with innovative ideas on how to mobilize finance.
ending at 10:15 CEST

Topics include the future of blue carbon financing, investment in nature-based solutions and how blue bonds can move from the national level to the global. We explore how to enable sustainable co-existence between different sectors (e.g. small-scale fishing, tourism, energy) to holistically drive triple-bottom-line returns. How can Marine Spatial Plans facilitate this? What is the role of new technologies like off-grid services and multi-use solutions? How can blended finance mechanisms support co-existence?
Speakers share best-practice examples from various parts of the world but will also analyze trade-offs and barriers.
The UN Ocean Conference will be convened in Nice, France, on 9-13 June 2025. For the third time, the world will come together for a global conference on how to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources.
SEI will be organizing two side events and contribute to several other activities. Learn more here.
