Joanne joined SEI as a Research Assistant in mid-2012 and is working on agricultural water management in the Limpopo and Volta basins.

Joanne is working with Jennie Barron on the Challenge Programme for Water and Food (CPWF) project for which SEI is producing a decision-support model for targeting and out-scaling agricultural water management technologies in the Limpopo and Volta Basins. Joanne has been compiling nation-wide data that is indicative of social and human factors influencing the successful out-scaling of such technologies.

Joanne completed her MSc in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University, Sweden. Prior to that, she completed her BSc in Ecology and Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
