Nabil joined SEI in 2021 as a Research Fellow and Platform Manager for Aid Atlas. He is responsible for promoting the use of Aid Atlas and networking with researchers doing analysis and research based on aid data flows. His research interest includes climate technology transfer to developing countries, and the role of multilateral and bilateral agencies in facilitating this process.

Prior to joining SEI, he briefly taught environmental policy courses at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before going back to graduate school, he served as an environmental advisor for the Promotion of Social & Environmental Standards in the Industry project implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Bangladesh. His experience before joining GIZ focused on technology transfer in the brick sector, carbon finance and capacity building for low carbon development.

He completed his PhD in technology, policy and innovation from Stony Brook University in 2020, where his dissertation explored sustainability transition impacts of climate technology aid projects in recipient countries. He has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and master’s degree in environmental resource policy from George Washington University.
