SEI
Sandra is a Research Assistant within the Water Team at SEI Latin America. Her work supports decision-making in Latin America through research on water resources management, climate resilience, spatial assessment, and hydrological and socioeconomic modeling. Much of her research centers around the application of the Water Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) model to represent the behavior of different water systems at local and regional scales.
Sandra is interested in advancing the understanding of climate-related pressures on water systems and promoting integrated water resources management, with particular attention to the links between surface water and groundwater. She is especially motivated to contribute to initiatives and solutions that support sustainable development and strengthen the relationship between water, territory, and communities.
Before joining her current role, Sandra worked in research and technical consulting on water resources management projects in Colombia. She has also been involved in university teaching in numerical modelling for water resources. Sandra holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, both from Universidad del Norte.
