This programme of work would strive to improve our understanding of air
pollution and GHG interactions in order to develop and implement appropriate policy response for their mitigation. These interactions are not limited to the emission sources and mitigation measures adopted. There are interactions in the atmosphere which affect impacts on radiative forcing (warming or cooling of the atmosphere) and also interactions related primarily to impacts on human health and ecosystems, the latter which can produce feedbacks that enhance both the extent and the rate of onset of climate change.
