The IPCC Working Group I sixth assessment report released on 9 August 2021 observes changes in the climate in every region in the world and the whole climate system. It shows that the world most likely will reach or exceed 1.5°C of warming within the next two decades. If the world is to limit the warming to this level, urgent and sustained action to reduce emissions is needed in order to reach net zero emissions on a global level by 2050.
