Bioeconomy cluster formation and roadmapping workshop

As part of the Advancing Bioeconomy Development in Kenya (ABDK) project, this workshop aims to advance bioeconomy development in Kenya by formulating strategic roadmaps for priority bioeconomy sectors.

This event will bring together key bioeconomy actors from across Kenya and beyond, including private sector entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers, financiers and international partners. The workshop will present an opportunity to collaborate on the future of Kenya’s bioeconomy.

Participants will co-create strategic roadmaps for four priority clusters;

  1. Value Addition & Circular Food Systems,
  2. Bio-based Agricultural Inputs,
  3. Bio-based Industrial Products,
  4. Sustainable Bioenergy

Workshop objectives

The workshop aims to: 

  1. Provide inputs to the mapped bioeconomy enterprises in Kenya.
  2. Identify barriers and opportunities affecting bioeconomy development in Kenya
  3. Establish sustainable governance structures for ongoing cluster coordination & implementation.
  4. Facilitate bioeconomy cluster roadmapping framing for the 4 clusters.
