Electric mobility and climate justice: who gets left behind?

Electric mobility is being promoted around the world as an important way to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality and support climate action. However, there are growing concerns about whether the transition to electric vehicles is fair for all countries, regions and social groups. Join experts to explore how electric mobility can support climate action while making transport fair for countries, regions and communities.

Although electric vehicles can bring environmental benefits, many challenges remain. These include affordability, access to charging infrastructure, unequal access to electricity, the impacts of mineral extraction, and the risk that poorer and more vulnerable groups may be left behind.

This webinar brings together speakers from Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America to discuss the opportunities, challenges and possible unintended consequences of the transition to electric mobility. The discussion will explore how climate justice can be included in transport policy and what is needed to support a fair and inclusive transition.
