Urban Governance Atlas is an interactive online database of over 250 good practice policy instruments that support nature-based solutions and ecosystem restoration. The atlas categorizes instruments into legislative, economic, cooperative, and knowledge-based types, providing insights into their design, implementation, and governance approaches. The platform serves as a resource for policymakers, urban planners, researchers, and civil society organizations to explore successful practices and lessons learned in urban ecosystem governance.
AdaptaVille provides a comprehensive platform for urban climate adaptation solutions in France. It compiles proven ecological strategies, such as increasing urban vegetation, enhancing permeable surfaces, and optimizing water management, to help cities mitigate climate risks like heatwaves, flooding, drought and impacts on biodiversity, health, food and energy. The platform serves as a decision-making tool for local governments, offering case studies, best practices, step-by-step instructions and technical resources to facilitate the widespread adoption of effective adaptation measures via nature-based solutions.
Plus Fraîche Ma Ville helps local governments across France choose sustainable urban cooling solutions. The platform provides decision trees and technical sheets tailored to various urban settings – squares, residential areas, green spaces, and critical buildings like schools and hospitals – offering practical guidance for effective implementation. Solutions are categorized into green, blue, grey, and soft approaches, with case studies showcasing successful deployments to foster knowledge exchange and inspire further action.
This event was organized in the framework of the EU-funded Horizon Europe project, Adaptation AGORA which aims to improve decision-making for climate change adaptation.
