The Pint of Science festival remains committed to making science engaging and accessible by bringing researchers and scientists into local pubs and venues. Spanning multiple cities and countries, the festival features a series of talks, discussions, and interactive sessions covering an extensive range of scientific topics. This year, the festival is scheduled for May 19-21, 2025, in various locations worldwide, including York.
At this year’s event, SEI researchers from the University of York will lead discussions on crucial topics, including the origins of our water, the importance of protecting our uplands, and the potential of biomass as a sustainable fuel source. Additionally, we will explore whether decentralization and local governance can transform our cities, fostering innovative environmental and societal solutions.
This event is organized by representatives from across the UK, including Sarah Laptain, a PhD researcher at SEI, University of York.
Pint of Science is a global, annual festival dedicated to making science accessible and enjoyable for all. It brings researchers out of their labs and into favourite local spots – pubs, bars, cafes and more – to share their exciting discoveries.
