SEI 2015 Events RegionGotland 2015 dag2 5 350x175
Donnerplats, Visby at Gotland.

From 3 to 6 July 2017 in Almedalen, Visby, SEI was lead discussions on a variety of topics including:

  • Can sustainable leadership help us navigate an insecure world?
  • How do we promote knowledge in a post-truth world, and work around the filter-bubble effect?
  • How can we make new environmental technologies succeed and work to protect the Baltic Sea?
  • How can the Swedish forestry sector contribute to global sustainable development?
  • Should Swedish overseas aid invest more in agroforestry?

Almedalsveckan in Visby on the island of Gotland is Sweden’s largest political event and gathers Sweden’s major political parties together with decision-makers, business leaders, researchers, NGOs, special interest groups and media for a week of debate around key social, economic and environmental issues.

Anyone can organize a debate, seminar or discussion and for 2017 there were 3,938 events planned by 1,863 organizers, with an attendance of approximately 35,000 people.

Because events at Almedalsveckan are primarily in Swedish, the full programme of SEI events is only available in Swedish.
