Sustainability Forum 2023: universities and the 2030 Agenda

The University Alliance Stockholm Trio collaboratively hosts the Sustainability Forum, a platform for networking and fostering collaborations for sustainable development. This year’s theme is “Universities and the 2030 Agenda: taking stock and moving forward”.

The event will commence with a special performance by Hannes Meidal from the Royal Dramatic Theatre, followed by a keynote address from SEI Research Director and Deputy Director, Åsa Persson, shedding light on the current state and challenges concerning Sustainable Development Goals. Afternoon sessions will explore specific Sustainable Development Goals and their implications, featuring an array of university and industry professionals.

This forum is an initiative to:

  • Bolster and fortify collaborations both within and outside academia
  • Emphasize the role of research and education in societal advancement, particularly in the context of Agenda 2030
  • Reflect on future educational shifts to address upcoming challenges and opportunities.

  • 10:15–11.30: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: Compliance, Implementation and Legitimacy with Karin Bäckstrand, SU, Jonas Ebbesson, SU, Åsa Wikforss, SU
  • 11:45–12:45: Transdisciplinary Approaches to a Sustainable Future by Stefan Swartling Peterson, KI, Kevin Noone, SU, Nina Wormbs, KTH
