The Sustainable Development Goals reflect a global consensus that economic, social and environmental aspects of development are inextricably linked and mutually dependent. SEI offers scientific support to the conceptualization, implementation and follow-up of the goals.
We develop innovative methods and tools to enhance capacity within governments and with other actors to adopt systems thinking on the SDGs, and to see this thinking reflected in decision-making.
Operationalizing policy coherence for sustainable development is another objective. We enhance knowledge-sharing across government and civil society actors – between and within countries – by providing informal spaces to build knowledge, capacity and awareness.
