Aung joined SEI Asia in April 2025 as a Project Assistant for Mekong Thought Leadership and Think Tanks Network (MTT) project and he will support the Program Secretariat team in administering subgrants and contracts of the national and regional knowledge-based policy influence organizations (KBPIOs) in the Mekong region.
Before joining SEI Asia, Aung has worked for rights-based development and multisectoral humanitarian response programming in Myanmar with different international NGOs and youth organizations for over five years. He had exposure to regulations and compliance of a range of donor profiles including UN agencies and bilateral institutional donors. His competencies span from initiating cross-departmental collaborations to designing social projects, monitoring project cycles and budgets and donor reporting. Most recently, he was a Senior Grants Officer for International Rescue Committee Myanmar’s head office in Yangon managing national level emergency response program contracts.
Aung holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yangon Technological University in Myanmar and an online diploma in Public Administration from the School of Governance and Public Administration.
