Charrlotte joined SEI Asia as a Research Associate (Urban) in June 2019.
She is broadly interested in understanding social stratification in cities. Her interests are informed by her experience in the research and the policy sector. She worked with the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, where she researched on urban food access and household food insecurity in Bangalore.
Further, she conducted policy research with the NITI Aayog (Planning Commission of the Government of India) for the Skill Development and Employment Vertical. Her work here was instrumental for operationalizing the skill development programme for 117 backward districts in India.
She holds a MA in Development Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. Her thesis mapped the land governance structures and issues relating to real estate development in a peri-urban area located along an industrial corridor in the southern region of India.
