Corrado Topi is an SEI Affiliated Researcher at SEI Asia. He joined SEI in October 2020.

Corrado is a complex system scientist and an ecological economist. He is an expert in the role of finance and economics in decision making and policy making for the sustainable resilient transition in private enterprises and cities, in the use of AI to support such models.

Prior to joining SEI Asia, he worked extensively on circular economy and on value chain sustainability. He was one of the leading experts on green economics and climate smart transition in small and medium-enterprises, one of the lead authors of the Mini Stern Review on the Economics of Low Carbon Cities. He led the development of Alchemy, an approach to participatory mapping and reduction of climate change impacts of the value chain of private companies and was co-author of the Circular Economy Process for Stakeholders Framework. Corrado participated to several COP side events as expert on green economy transition; was advisor to UNEP on combining approaches for scaling-up integrated policy support; was invited expert at the G7 meeting on green finance for SMEs; coleader of the workpackage on private finance in the initiative on climate finance of SEI; coinvestigator on the Building up resilience in agricultural supply chains (BURNS) project.

Corrado holds a degree in theoretical physics and a PhD in environmental science (ecological economics) on blueprints for the development of integrated green transition strategies at the local level.
