It is targeted at policymakers and practitioners in Southeast Asia and covers the following topics:

  • integrated agriculture-aquaculture systems
  • alternate wetting and drying
  • climate information services
  • forest landscape restoration
  • silvopastoral systems
  • sustainable soil management
  • gender mainstreaming, equity and inclusion.

Each paper includes a summary of currently available information on the climate change mitigation and adaption potentials of the respective approaches and reflects on issues of equity and inclusion during their implementation. Each Insight Brief concludes with recommendations for policymakers, donors and project implementers and for further research.

The papers will be published successively from May to September 2021, each in a full version and a digest version to introduce the topic in a brief format.

This Insight Brief is part of a series prepared by SEI on behalf of the Climate-Smart Land Use in ASEAN project, which receives funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH in close cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN Climate Resilience Network.
