This World Bank report details how climate action in Tajikistan can not only support the environment, but improve its infrastructure, development and economy.
Tajikistan faces threats from floods, droughts, air pollution and other climate-related dangers.
At the same time, the country experiences population growth amid a slowing economy that cannot absorb its entire workforce.
SEI experts contributed to this World Bank report, which details how climate action can support Tajikistan’s infrastructure, development, economy and environment alike.
The highlighted actions are projected to lower the risk of extreme climate events, restore degraded land, achieve net zero emissions in transport and waste by 2050, and improve water, energy and food security in the country – all while boosting GDP by 6% by 2050.
