Carlos Andrés Méndez Vallejo is a Cadastral and Geodesic Engineer from the Francisco José de Caldas District University, with a Master’s degree in Geosciences and Environment from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil.
He has professional and academic experience in Colombia and Brazil in the development of tools for modeling, forecasting, analysis, and decision-making in projects related to water resource monitoring and management, hydroelectric and renewable energy, climate change scenarios, and artificial intelligence.
Carlos has developed solid technical skills in the design, structuring, and programming of web applications and maps using GIS and OGC geospatial services, spatial databases (SQL – PostGIS), cloud services (AWS – Azure – GCP – GEE), artificial intelligence algorithms (AI – ML – DL – NN – LLMs – Generative AI – GeoAI), version control and development systems (GitHub – GitLab), and Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS programming languages.
Carlos is currently focused on developing new data- and model-based technological tools that enable authorities, institutions, and the civilian population to sustainably manage water and energy resources in Latin America.
