Phorntip Saensri joined SEI Asia as a Research Associate under the Water and Ecosystem Resilience team in September 2026. She contributes to Water and Energy Modelling activities related to modelling in hydrology, water balance, water accounting, flood, drought and ecosystem functions.

Before joining SEI Asia, she worked as a water resources engineer with experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling across Thailand, Lao PDR, and the wider Mekong region. At ILF Consulting Engineers (Asia) and as an independent consultant, she built hydrological-hydraulic models for water availability analysis and extreme-flood frequency assessment. As an Associate Flood and Drought Forecaster with the Mekong River Commission, she contributed to basin-scale drought monitoring and forecasting. She has also delivered practical training on flood modelling and remote sensing for the Royal Irrigation Department, and her research interests include drought and flood hazard assessments across Thailand and the wider Southeast Asia region.

Phorntip holds a Master of Engineering in Water Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Khon Kaen University.
