COP17 post-match analysis – is biodiversity action accelerating?

Join us on 5 November for key takeaways from the UN Biodiversity Conference, as experts from across sectors assess what did and did not happen at COP17 in Yerevan.

5 November 2026 at 14:00 CET

ending at 15:30 CET

Online only

The UN Biodiversity Conference was held in Yerevan, Armenia, from 19 to 30 October, with many important items on the agenda. But what were the actual outcomes and what will they mean for the future? On 5 November, we will host an online post-match event to analyze this together with negotiators and researchers as well as representatives from civil society, youth organizations and other experts.

Join us to ask questions and discuss what lies ahead after COP17. What will the Yerevan Pathway mean? How will the COP17 decisions affect biodiversity financing? How were Indigenous Peoples’ perspectives reflected?Where are the most significant implementation gaps? How did current geopolitical tensions influence negotiations?  What role did science play?

The event is a collaboration between SEI, Focali, BECC at Lund University and Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research, CSPR, Linköping University.
