The latest science tells us that adaptation to the impacts of climate change is happening, but it’s incremental, small-scale and uneven.
This press conference will present ideas from research, policy and practice on how to advance the kinds of transformational adaptation the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) calls for.
The press conference will take place at Room Cairo, Area E for accredited journalists.
This press conference brings together different perspectives – from the public, private and research sectors – to raise awareness and understanding of the global nature of climate change impacts and the true scale of the risks it presents to our economies and societies. It also aims to shift the narrative on adaptation – and encourage more international cooperation on adaptation – to strengthen the resilience of our global systems, markets and supply chains to the cascading impacts of climate change.
Panelists will provide their perspective on what the adaptation challenge is, and how to rise to it, and answer questions from journalists. Among the panelists will be:
