In august 2019, the IPCC Panel approved the IPCC special report on climate change, desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems, the result of a three year long process involving 107 authors from 52 countries.
During this event, authors of the report and experts will give and introduction to the report to a broader audience.
Initiative / This initiative aims to guide decision-makers towards more cohesive and constructive governance of bioeconomy pathways, with a focus on the Global South.
Perspective / Boosting carbon sinks is crucial in achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. But it has to be done right, and at scale.
Feature / Francis X. Johnson, one of the authors of the IPCC Special Report on climate change and land, discusses using land to reduce emissions.
Feature / Bioeconomy offers the prospect of greener and more inclusive development. It's an opportunity to decarbonize, and to bypass mainstream industrialization.
