With guest speaker SEI Asia’s Research Associate Jenny Yi-Chen Han, this online event will bring together perspectives from practitioners, policy makers, researchers and activists to define the next practical steps of how we can move forward towards a just transition in Asia.
Asia is facing a multitude of challenges at the same time: impacts of the climate crisis are already a hard reality, at the same time governments in the region seek more development based on economic growth to expand wealth. In some countries, the overall living standard has improved but the gap between rich and poor has widened. To bring these contradictory developments on a common path on which no one is left behind, there is a need for a just transition trajectory.
The second Just Transition Forum in Asia welcomes participants to join Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and Climate Action Network Southeast Asia online from 7-9 September 2022 to discuss how this just transition pathway in the fields of energy, mobility and agriculture can look like. With distinguished keynote speakers, two panel discussions and nine laboratory sessions, the JTFA 2022 will bring together perspectives from practitioners, policymakers, researchers and activists to define the next practical steps of how we can move forward towards a just transition in Asia.
SEI Asia Research Associate Jenny Yi-Chen Han will deliver a keynote address on Thursday 8 September 2022 from 9:00-9:20am ICT and is one of the speakers at the closing panel discussion on carrying forward the just transition momentum on Friday 9 September 2022 from 10:30am-12pm ICT.
