Outcomes

In line with the purpose of the SNAP Initiative, the expected outcomes of the project include:

  • increased awareness and capacity at national level on short-lived climate pollutants (SLCP) to ensure that SLCP mitigation and air pollution abatement actions are integrated in on-going national planning processes
  • development of an Action Plan on short-lived climate pollutants for Kenya that outlines the major sources at national level, the priority sectors, and key actions to reduce short-lived climate pollutants and proposes a mechanism to coordinate and monitor the implementation of these actions and track progress in reducing emissions
  • integration of SLCP mitigation and air pollution abatement actions in on-going national planning processes
  • a roadmap for the development of a national air quality management strategy and action plan. This action plan will propose a mechanism to coordinate and monitor the implementation of SLCPs mitigation actions and track progress in reducing emissions. The SNAP Project outputs will support sectors to make scientific-informed policies and develop SLCPs emission reduction strategies that will deliver direct in-country benefits for
    health and economic growth.
