The expansion of wind energy in Latin America is creating new dynamics in Indigenous territories, particularly in regions such as La Guajira (Colombia) and Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil). In this context, both opportunities and challenges are emerging, especially in relation to participation, governance, and engagement with energy sector actors.

This webinar featured the publication “Indigenous dialogues on wind energy: a knowledge exchange between Brazil and Colombia”. The document brings together experiences, discussions, and technical elements addressed during an exchange between Indigenous communities from both countries, as well as visual records of these dialogues.

Topics covered during the webinar:

  • Background of the exchange
  • Community experiences in Colombia and Brazil in relation to wind energy projects
  • Key lessons learned from the exchange between communities
  • Recommendations for stakeholders involved in wind energy development
