SEI Oxford is the recipient of the Gold Standard Internship Host award given by the University of Oxford in recognition the quality of the internship experiences it has provided and maintained over the years.
The award, received in 2019, underscores the Centre’s commitment to giving students experiences that will benefit their career progress, and, at the same time, will help support the Centre’s ongoing work in climate change, adaptation and sustainability research and outreach.
The awards are based on the overall quality of feedback from the interns, the consistency of provision of internships, responsiveness in addressing any difficulties that arise, and provision of constructive resources for interns.
Since it began in 2002, SEI Oxford has hosted interns from the University of Oxford, the University of Edinburgh and Uppsala University.
“Graduates” of SEI Oxford have gone on to careers in various SEI centres wordwide. Interns have also established careers at the Green Climate Fund, DNV GL, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the UK Civil Service and elsewhere.
