Dimas Fauzi is a Research Associate for Policy and Impact Monitoring at SEI Asia. He joined SEI in August 2021.
Dimas has strong experience and interests in interdisciplinary research on environment, natural resources and climate change particularly in Southeast Asia. In addition to qualitative research, he is proficient in performing policy impact evaluation using econometrics modelling and large datasets.
Prior to joining SEI Asia, he worked for the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Indonesia as a Research Analyst. He mainly conducted research on community-based forest management, participatory forest restoration, agricultural value chains and renewable energy transition. Before working in research, he was a development worker based in rural eastern Indonesia and a programme assistant for a development assistance programme, both were on renewable energy and energy access issues.
Dimas holds a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) degree with economics and development specialisation from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Universitas Gadjah Mada. During his MPP studies, he worked part-time as a Graduate Research Assistant with several research institutes at NUS to support research projects such as urban water demand management policies in ASEAN countries, economic competitiveness of Indonesian provinces, and environmental impacts of a hydropower project in Indonesia.
