Our team currently includes 43 colleagues from seven countries across the Americas, conducting policy-relevant research on water management, renewable energy and sustainable transitions. We are committed to building a talented and dedicated team of environmental and development professionals to support further growth and increase our impact.

As a regional Centre, we have implemented, or are currently implementing, work in 15 countries across North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean.

The role

We are seeking a creative and skilled Graphic Designer to produce compelling visual content for SEI Latin America. Working within our communications team, you will turn research and ideas into engaging graphics, infographics, video and animation that bring our work to life across digital and print channels and strengthen SEI’s voice as a leading contributor to sustainable development in Latin America.

Main responsibilities

  • Create visual assets for web and print, from early concept through to finished design.
  • Turn complex research and data into clear, attractive and accessible graphics and infographics.
  • Produce video and animation, and advise on video production from a design perspective.
  • Work within SEI’s brand guidelines.
  • Manage and keep up to date the centre’s visual and multimedia materials.
  • Work as part of SEI’s global design team, coordinating with the lead designers at HQ.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of communication strategies.
  • Support internal and external communication activities, including vendor management, communication services, and event logistics.
  • Support the management of social media and digital platforms, including content creation and graphic design.
  • Provide additional support to the communications team as required.

Who you are

You are a design specialist with a strong eye for visual storytelling, who enjoys turning research and ideas into engaging content and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Required qualifications and experience 

Education and experience

  • Degree in graphic design, visual communication, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience in graphic design or visual communication
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, colour theory, layout and composition.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience designing and producing content for both print and digital media.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines. 

Technical skills  

  • Advanced knowledge of graphic design software, especially Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign).
  • Preferably, experience producing video and animation, and familiarity with relevant software.

Language and communication

Professional proficiency in Engligh and Spanish.
