While internships are generally open to all, priority is given to matriculated university students for whom an internship is either part of their curriculum or a thesis project. Priority is also given to students from universities with whom SEI has collaboration agreements (Stockholm University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Lund University). We welcome applications from those that have specific interests that are of relevance to the work of SEI. In general, we expect candidates to have some prior knowledge of the research area in which they will be working. The internship may for example include the writing of a master’s thesis.
SEI HQ only offers unpaid internships. Internship candidates are expected to be fully funded and insured by external sources for the full duration of the stay at SEI HQ. We do not provide housing and do not assist in finding accommodation.
We offer two internship periods per year: January-June and August-January in alignment with the Swedish academic year. The application period for the spring semester takes place in November the previous year and in April for the autumn semester the same year.
The application period for Autumn 2020 will open in April-May 2020.
We do not offer any internships during the summer months.
