Karolin Andersson is a Research Fellow at SEI Headquarters in the Agriculture, Land and Bioeconomy Team, the Division of Resources, Rights and Development. She is a feminist scholar driven by ambitions for social and environmental justice in socio-ecological processes and change across the world. Through a critical lens, her research unfolds across the realms of agri-food systems, gender and development studies, nature-based solutions and rural-urban dynamics.

Karolin holds a PhD in Rural Development from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), the dissertation studying the continuity and change of gender relations and identities through state-led governance of rural and urban agriculture in Rwanda. She also earned an MSc degree in Agricultural Development from the University of Copenhagen, a Food Agronomist degree from SLU and a BSc degree in Food Science from SLU.
