      Leonie Pearson is an SEI Affiliated Researcher with SEI Asia. Leonie works as an Associate Professor at the University of Canberra, Australia in public policy and ecological economics. She has over twenty years of international experience in research, teaching, capacity building and policy impact.  Her expertise includes stakeholder engagement and co-design, economic assessment and policy analysis, institutional analysis, futures and scenario building with experience in technical, management, team and leadership roles.

      Leonie has partnered with major international and research and development organisations includes DFAT, ACIAR, Silda, CSIRO, and the European Commission, with most of her work across Australia and Asia. This work has results in a strong publication record across diversity of topic areas; urban, water, economics, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, resilience, transformation and more.

      Prior to her current academic role Leonie has worked in government, private consulting, research organisations, academia, not-for-profits and think tanks. Her diversity of experience and understanding along with her breadth of applications ensure that she is a pragmatic economist, with a strength in people that delivers real world solutions that work.
